The Smoky Run Mitigation Bank is located in Roane County, Tennessee, within the Watts Bar HUC 8 primary service area and the Lower French Broad and Middle Tennessee-Chickamauga secondary service areas. The project focuses on a full watershed restoration approach, encompassing a mosaic of degraded streams and riparian buffers. The bank’s goal is to restore, enhance, and preserve self-sustaining functional streams to provide compensatory mitigation for unavoidable federal and state stream impacts. The bank will preserve and restore over 43,000 linear feet of stream and protect 152 acres under a permanent conservation easement.
