The Lye Branch Mitigation Bank is located two miles north of Abernant, Alabama, in the Upper Black Warrior watershed in Tuscaloosa County. As compared with similar undisturbed riparian forests within the Upper Black Warrior Watershed, it is evident that the riparian buffer zones have an establishment of exotic, invasive species and/or lack proper riparian buffer width, tree diversity, and density. There are over 26,000 linear feet of streams within the 220-acre site. Mitigation Resources will complete stream riparian buffer enhancement to stabilize stream channels and provide a site protection instrument to preserve the area in perpetuity.
