As an Ecologist for our team, Russ Milam leads the baseline data collection on new mitigation banks, including jurisdictional determinations for streams and wetlands, creating baseline maps using GIS, and collecting various stream measures to generate credit estimates.
Russ holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Environmental Science from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Master of Science degree in Biology from Murray State University. Prior to joining Mitigation Resources of North America, Russ worked as a field biologist and research developer, performing bat habitat assessment and rare herbaceous inventories. He’s also worked as an ecologist and lead environmental inspector for the oil and natural gas industry in several states.
In his free time, Russ loves spending time outdoors with his wife and kids and does woodworking, typically repurposing unique pieces of wood collected in the field.
