Leland is our vice president of mitigation solutions, and he has been part of the team since 2009. He has oversight of business development, regulatory matters, and property acquisitions. He also evaluates new investment opportunities and assists in the short-term and long-term growth strategies for the company.
Leland earned his degree in environmental science from Stephen F. Austin State University while interning for North American Coal, one of our sister companies. Leland spent eight years working full-time at North American Coal before taking an environmental management position with Mitigation Resources.
His favorite aspect of working with Mitigation Resources is spending time with the great people on our team and “being part of something that my family can be proud of.” Leland says that all NACCO companies share the common thread of everyone truly caring for each other and treating all team members with dignity and respect. He loves spending his free time with his family while hunting, fishing, golfing, and tending to their small farm.
